Peeter Vissak -You cannot compete the machine
compete with? Maybe not, but the correct type of
horse might be able to. My eyes are drawn to the
curve on the R front leg. It's so soft and
tender. There is something uncomfortable about
the fiberglass dinghy and the wooden trailor with
all the plaid shirted people on it. The modern
meets the 1950s rural.
Emily,
You are right.
It is as uncomfortable as one can see in visual anthropology documentaries
(or in situ, if great traveller), when heritage-faced people do heritage
work with heritage tools wearing worn-out and ugly Adidas suits.
But modern world and almost forgotten rural meet often in periphery and
small islands here, especially now, when people realize that Estonia isn't
only Tallinn and move (back) to countryside. Moreover - there isn't
practically any place here, from where one couldn't get to Tallinn with 2-3
hours if really needed. And iternet and mobile connection cover 98% of the
territory and aquatory.
