I would think the fair would jump at a chance to have you serve as a judge.
For the exhibits at our fair, we ("we" meaning the local photography club)
try to get judges from out-of-town so they can't be accused of favoritism
when judging. That's the only reason I can think of that your community's
fair would not take you up on your generous offer.
