Guys,
I won't discount concerns for loss due to nature or stupidity but I
think crime is over estimated. What percent of the zillion electronic
transactions each day result in fraud or other mischief? Point, how
many zeros?
It doesn't matter how many transactions there are every day. And it
isn't imporatnat if someone's identity is stolen. Until it happens to
you! then it can be devastating and expensive to reclaim your life.
You think the government is out to get your data? Government doesn't
need data to control everybody. Do you think Stalin or Mao had or
wanted data on their victims? Modern governments practice tyranny by
proxy.
Government has all the data about me they ever wanted. And you too.
The notion of privacy, like personal modesty is faddish. Today its
butt cracks and blogs. The bad guys go for the easiest prey. There
are plenty of victims with their butts hanging out to go around.
