Hello,
Doing an advertisement for yours or any other business is commercial. Model releases are not just about complying, it is good etiquette. If some one has signed one then they would not be too surprised to see it somewhere unexpected. If they didn't sign one, they may be surprised and upset to se themselves in that unintended situation. If you are doing paid headshots than you should get a model release at that time. You could always contact the models now and as for their permission. Even having a model release does not completely protect you from someone with a lawyer, an attitude and deep pockets but a small mailing and no model release probably means no one is going to get upset enough to come after you.

Hi Gang..................
The main focus of my Studio is doing Theatrical Photography.
I am mailing out an advertisement from my Studio to
some of the local theatre companies and voice teachers.
In this single page newsletter/advertisement
I will have a few examples of some Head Shots.
As I am using these photos just to promote my studio
and I am not trying to sell the images, do I need to have
a model release from the persons in the photos?
Thanks........
