Those aren't stands...if you look closely, one is a table (a handle to the
little drawer is barely visible) and the other appears to be bench.
The table was being used to keep the rocking chair from tipping. Standing
completely still for a little longer than we're used to was a must.
It's rare to find a photo taken in a studio in those days in which the
people are smiling.
These girls look more alive than some of the people in the old photos I
have...and they're very cute. :-)
