I may have taken 15
minutes to snap the photo the girls’ expressions are typical of bored
female models. The photographer may have had to prepare a second wet plate colloidon
or something. It is naturally lit from a window. They just look bored. Additionally,
since the exposure was long, the subjects at that time were often tied or
clamped to prevent movement blur. Why not photo-shop the image and tweak the
