If you are using CS2 and have Scott Kelby's book The Photoshop CS2 Book for
Digital Photographers, there is a great tutorial on resizing images. And it
does seem to work.
Basically in a nut shell;
Open the image, select Image>Image Size and type in the your required
dimensions, such as 36in by 24in. Make sure to select Scale Style, Constrain
Proportions and Resample Image.
Enter in a Higher Resolution such as 360.
Do not use the resampling method suggested by Adobe, Bicubic Smooth, use
instead, Bicubic Sharper. Some believe this is better than using a plug-in.
Click Ok.
Now to find a hard drive to store the image on. It will be a big one.
