Who does this sort of (gigantic) enlargements? And how much cost is involved? And why would someone want a picture as large as 4x8 feet? Not trying to be a wise guy. Just the first time I've heard of a picture enlarged to that size.
Photo-murals to decorate a room (you can buy these at Home Depot and such), billboards, outdoor banners, convention display banners (hung down from the ceiling in a "merchandise mart", and stuff like that. Plus I have seen stuff done that size just by artist's choice now and then too. These days, it's often done with wide-format commercial inkjet printers -- something that can print a 4' width, say, and possibly printing multiple strips to be joined together to make the full size of the final print. -- David Dyer-Bennet, <mailto:dd-b@xxxxxxxx>, <http://www.dd-b.net/dd-b/> RKBA: <http://www.dd-b.net/carry/> Pics: <http://www.dd-b.net/dd-b/SnapshotAlbum/> Dragaera/Steven Brust: <http://dragaera.info/>
