Thanks all for the comments! Charles you are dead right with the focus. The cropping was not an option since I took the shot a couple of years ago with my first digital, a Canon Powershot A20 with only 2 megapixels to work with. Getting this shot was sheer dumb luck. But - I met the number one requirement for taking a photograph: I had a camera with me. :) Again, thanks all for taking the time and especially Andy and his staff for making this gallery happening every week. Have a good and safe Memorial Day weekend! Renate On 5/26/06, Charles Dias <deepblue972000@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:
Karen Habbestad - Nice shot. I loved the warm tones and the reflection on the glass surface of the building. Nice simple but effective composition. David Dyer - This photo is simple terrific. Pure magic. I loved the colors and the composition. The man holding the camera is a plus. Very good photo indeed, it deserves to be on a magazine cover. Roger Eichhorn - Hummm, I don't like the composition of this photo, it's too simple and I think a low angle would spice it a little. Nice colors, but the underexposed foreground makes it not vivid as it must be ... some PS working and you can get this image better IMHO. Renate Volz - Very nice colors of the insect, I liked it. The composition is nice but some cropping would be interesting to get ride of the excess of blank space around the insect. I just miss some more depth of fiel ... I think that the head of the insect and its tail is out of focus but not the wings. Jim Snarski - Nice buttlefly and a good composition. I Just think the image is too light, maybe some contrast and brightness control would be nice and could improve it a lot. Lea Murphy - Lovely smile of a beautiful girl. I just don't like the top of the image with street, it's something distractive ... maybe some cropping would be nice. Elson T. Elizaga - Are then in a canoe ??? Really ??? For me they look to be in a living room with all that furniture. I like the shot, very interesting the boy playing in one side of the frame and the girl trying to look serious on the other. I think you should convert this image to black and white in order to get it even more interesting. Allan Rosen-Ducat - Sometimes ago I read something about a virtual club of clouds photographers ... I think me and you could be part of it because I like to shot clouds too. I like it, very nice but I think it would be much better in black and white simulating the use of a red filter. Marilyn Dalrymple - Very nice image this one ... classical dead nature composition ... lovely. Christopher Strevens - I like the shot but not the art, I'm not a fan of this kind of manipulation. I think this image would be great in black and white with fine control of the contrast.
