4 rolls a day is just about what I calculate. So for 1 month of travel, that's 120 rolls, I usually get 38 pics out of a roll, so that's 4560 pictures!
Of course, if I stay longer in one place and take a language course (for example), this can be less.
Currently I'm taking slides and with those shots that are important to me, I bracket widely.
My experience with the Lumix FX 8 is that I bracket even more and only delete the unnecessary pictures at home when I can see them on the big screen.
If the Epson's screen is as good as the revue has it, it might be possible to already judge the pictures on the road, which would be quite  a bonus...

Jeez, Laurenz.  How long a trip?  3500 images?  Rowell confined
himself to 4 rolls a day.  Are you perhaps being profligate with the
shutter release?
