Wanted to thank you as well for the help. I have verified your suggestion on
my camera and it does reset the number of shots. I tried to use the auto
reset and manual reset functions. Once I did both I returned to continuous
numbering system and it starts from the beginning with shot number 0001.

Thank you again for your suggestion as this may not apply to my specific
model but may work for other cameras.
