One of the most "professional" sites (with a discussion forum) on the
web is Rob Galbraith´s:
http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/index.asp
It has forums for lots of subjects, including DSLR´s from big
manufacturers. Remarkably "flame-war free" and informative.
For Canon cameras, Pekka Saarinen´s site is quite good as well:
http://photography-on-the.net/forum/
Another good, "professional" site is Fred Miranda´s:
http://www.fredmiranda.com/
Finally, not primarily for its Forum but for general content, Michael
Reichmann runs a veritable gold mine:
http://www.luminous-landscape.com/
Most (probably all) of these require a subscription to post, but not to
read. Subscription is free and easy: instructions on the sites.
Photo.net and dpreview.com are VERY big and very populated, it is just
that the population is a bit too mixed. For a newcomer, it is
difficult to see if a cock-sure poster (lots of ´em out there, believe
me...) knows what he´s talking about, or is just a schoolboy who read
the latest brochures.

Dear members:
I am interested in subscribing to discussion forums or lists on digital
photography and digital cameras. I am more interested in professional
photography and SLR cameras. Are there any lists or groups you can
recommend
? How do I subscribe to these lists ?
Thank you in advance.
