I second that on the cd's...depending upon the climate you live in, cd's will last longer or shorter, but definitely not forever...i have Sony cd's i burned less than three years ago that have been kept in jewel cases or sleeves (no scratches or loss of data film) that no longer are readable by any cd reading equipment i own (old or new)...new cars these days can go 100,000 miles before needing a tune up...but what about the computer parts?  i miss my '77 buick...the potential for things to go wrong is a design feature in most new technology IMO...more parts means more opportunity for repair which means more sales and increased profits...as consumers, we're suckers...makes me think, time to have my Mamiya tuned up... it was fifteen years old when i bought it and i've had it for two now and it seems perfectly fine...

Bad news.

Most of sophisticate actual digital camera don't need camera check
every two years, because probably in two years it will be completelly
obsolete and maybe will fail to work, and can not be repaired.

Listen to this. I have a Canon video camera "CanonvisionEX1 hi " I
have buy 10 years ago, it don't operate anymore and nobody can (or
will) repair it !

It cost at time of purchase about US$6000.00. Nice the electronic !

So, if you buy a digital camera now, use it now quickly, because in
2 or 3 years ??????????

Probably same with all data on CD, in 10 or 20 years ?????????????

Sorry for the bad news.
