I don't think I've actually loaded bulk film since somewhere around 1987, but maybe I remember some of it.... > 1. The crank has a lot of sideways room for movement. Yes, if you pull it out while cranking, it stops pulling film. I've never had this happen by mistake or without noticing, and it doesn't affect the counting function, so it's a non-issue. > 2. the locking lever...hmm...with the cover everywhere in between > its end p[ositions will pop teh gate open...not fully, but just > enough. Nope, doesn't lock the gear that I remember. > 3. how safe are the two interconnecting surfaces of the body and > cover, that lock the film in between? You can certainly scratch the film by pulling it through, and simply opening and closing the gate is likely to scratch the film actually caught in it -- but that film is, as you say, part of the leader at one end or the other, *not* a part you take pictures on. > 4. By turning it, anyway; I wouldn't swear to the direction from memory. -- David Dyer-Bennet, <mailto:dd-b@xxxxxxxx>, <http://www.dd-b.net/dd-b/> RKBA: <http://noguns-nomoney.com/> <http://www.dd-b.net/carry/> Pics: <http://dd-b.lighthunters.net/> <http://www.dd-b.net/dd-b/SnapshotAlbum/> Dragaera/Steven Brust: <http://dragaera.info/>
