And much less interesting.  I use layers for retouching and extensive
compositing, but I do very little of that.  

CS has all the layering functionality in 16 bits, so I suppose CS2
does also.  Adjustment layers for 16-bit images were the *last* bit
added (and the one that really mattered to me).
