Emily, I also extend my sympathies to you in the grief you feel. As far as your project goes you might consider using a technique involving freezer paper. I believe it is available from a grocer. You heat press fabric to it and run it straight thru your printer. I've not done it but a friend has and she did just fine with it. She was using an HP printer, not and Epson but I'd guess the results to be comparable.
