Your histogram gives you information

I shoot with the Canon 10D and in my histogram window the blown areas flash black on the actual image so they are very easy to see.
All very sensible advice. I've been bracketting -1/3, normal, +1/3 for the last four days and I've concluded that I'd really like to set the bracket to -2/3, -1/3, normal. My 10D doesn't seem to permit that in the auto bracket sequence.
The other thing I've learned is that I can always rescue stuff from an underexposed image but forget the overexposed ones. Now it seems so obvious but somehow, even after 10 years of struggling with slide film, I've never quite assembled the realization until now.
