Dear list members, A colleague of mine is searching a stationary colour meter test stand for digital still and moving picture cameras. Their light sensitivity, their colour saturation, their long term stability,... are under test. A PC should be used for archiving and measurement thus the following equipment is in focus: 1) a high resolution graphic board (1600x1200) with digital output 2) a high resolution monitor (with digital input, of course) and suitable frequency; ready to be calibrated 3) a colour meter for achieving long time stability (i. e. calibrating the monitor and calibrate/measure the light source) with PC interface (e. g. Gossen Colormaster 3F) 4) a homogeneous light source for illuminating test charts (e. g. an Ulbricht sphere) 5) test charts for colour balance checks (like http://www.esser-test-charts.com/ offers) Have you any experience with equipment for this application? Could you name and criticise equipment? In general: What is your recommendation for that reasons: a CRT or a TFT display? (Well, the later is expensive, especially if capable of high resolutions.) Thank you in advance. Regards, Walter __ Email: walter.preiss@xxxxxxxxxx
