It must, therefore, have been extended in the 1950's. Is the Atomic Age over now? I've not heard much about nuclear power stations that were supposed to make it all very cheap... There now all being decommissioned and everyone is complaining about the cost. Did you know that the energy required to extract the uranium and refine it for use as a fuel and the energy to build the power station comes to more than the total energy output of the power unit over its entire life... and then there is the decommissioning.
