Jeff Spirer, End of the Line. Not much to go on here, certainly not enough to determine exactly where the line ends, or how, or why. Minimalism demands emotional impact to overcome a paucity of visual information. This looks like an out-take.

Emily L. Ferguson, The Power of suggestion. The kids who built this tower of Babel aren't present, but you can hear them laughing. Nice shot.

Jim Davis, Inner Mounting Flame. Whoa! You know what they say: "Less is More." That applies to wordy captions. The pic speaks for itself! And it says a lot.

Pini Vollach, Sunset. The framing is interesting, but even more so is the subtle touch of warmth on the side of the dune. Verrrry evocative.

Laurenz Bobke, Stranded? Either that, or pretty damned close to it. Great action shot.

Trevor Cunningham, Life of a Daffodil. Ed Hart, my former editor at UPI/New York, told the story of an accident right in front of the Daily News building. A nine-year-old boy got hit by an out-of-control taxi, and the impact threw his shoe onto the sidewalk. Ed took a shot of the shoe, but then decided not to run it because it looked so much like a setup, even though it wasn't.

Bob Talbot, Harwell. Must be the overcast, but despite the color of the flag and the umbrella and the garden't flowers, this is a rather gloomy shot.

Dan Mitchell, Still Life: Lovely subtle colors, but overall the image might look better if the narrow vase weren't right up against the edge of the pane. Just a half an inch to the right would do it.

Kostas Papakotas and Bill Mitoglou, the kiss. This is effective, but would be even more so if the right figure's face were more fully shown. Plus the bill of the hat threatens to hit the child's nose.

Jim Snarski, Lani. Sharp detail, but not much action to hold interest.

Howard Leigh, Common frog. A more interesting shot would be zooming in to actually see the reflections you describe.

Overall, a nice collection of images.
