My honest thoughts on this week's bunch of images.

John Mason
Staging Lane, Eastside Raceway, 21 March 2004
- I like this, except for what looks like perhaps the photographer's
finger in the bottom left corner making a blur. Good use of black and
white. Nice use of a square frame.

Don Roberts
Sure and Certain Hope
- Well, for a graveyard scene, this is a nice shot. Good tonal range,
nice use of colour, well framed. I think the title is fine.

Dan Mitchell
Lynn Ferry
- This one does nothing for me, sorry. I don't like the positioning of
the people, nor the boat. It's also a bit too small. Overall, just a
poor snapshot.

Peeter Vissak
6 o'clock drink
- Another nice square format image. It's a shame I can't see just a
bit more detail in the dog's head, but nice shot with a great mood and
colour.

Pini Vollach
Farm
 - Certainly, this is an interesting image, also with nice colour.
Just a bit too confusing though, it might have been better without the
bottom right pallets. The open and rusted sawblade makes me wonder if
the rest of the sawmill has disintegrated, or just what it's doing in
that position. It seems too high and with no platform.

WRGill
- I find the colours a bit strange, but interesting. The moon just
seems out of place, not unrealistically, but uninterestingly. I would
have placed it more to the right, perhaps eclipsed by the hills.

Christopher Strevens
Street
- Ok, the effect is nice, but the trucks and that pole ruin the scene.
Might have been nice with people instead of a garbage truck.

Jim Davis
Backlight on White Bird
- thanks for the nice comments on this one. It is lovely now with
spring here to get some fresh green in images.

Bob Talbot
Flamingo
- Weird and wonderful image Bob. Not my style though :-)

Andrew Davidhazy
 - Lovely girl well posed. I find it interesting that although the
backlight seems even on both sides of the head, her face shows classic
45 degree lighting. Perhaps lit by a large reflective surface?

I'm so glad the reviews and gallery submissions have picked up. I look
forward to the gallery each week.
