Bob Talbot, Flamingo: A striking image, perfectly executed. Looking at individual feathers, it is obvious that the image is mirrored, so the catchlight in one eye must be "fixed" afterwards. However, technical details are unimportant; the image works, and works well. OK Minor manipulation was in terms of speed of application not magnitude. It's not a simple reflection. The source image: http://www.st-abbs.fsnet.co.uk/tempery/flamingoeye.jpg As shown I felt it was, err, nice but dull. The large dark triangle was IMO boring. I wanted two eyes The "manipulation" was fast. 1) Layer > Duplicate 2) Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal 3) {Blend Mode: Lighten} This step worked because the background triangle is so dark compared to the bird. So far the process has taken < 30 sec! At this stage the highlights in the eye just looked wrong: well spotted Don!!!! To correct this, and make it look more natural I just swapped the position of the highlight. That meant the whole process took almost 2 minutes! It produced for me an image that was ambiguous: a judge would despise it for be so regular. For me I prefer it to the original though. Heck, it's only a bit of fun. Bob
