I've preached here often and loudly that criticism--literary, photographic, or otherwise--rarely ever rises above the level of opinion, and of course in response to any given work (or idea for that matter) roughly half the population will proclaim it great, whilst the other half will call it crap.
If you're a true artist, and by that I mean one who has made a total and absolute commitment to his/her art, then no amount of negative criticism or even ridicule will EVER stop you from creating. I may be interested in seeing what somebody thinks of my fiction or my images, but nobody--and I mean nobody--has with negative words convinced me I should give up.

That is why I rarely comment on the exhibits, although I always have opinions and reactions.
