I agree, mostly. But none of this has to do with Flash, the means by which a creative work is presented. It has to do with graphic design.

How you are now presenting your portfolio, neatly matted and in a Century Box, is not the same as what we are discussing about the use of Flash, though I do get your point.

You are presenting your portfolio in a clean, simple manner. A good graphic design. But, as you point out about the misuse of Flash, just because you mount and matte your photographs does not mean that you have presented them well.

Can you imagine an expressive black and white photograph matted with a gaudy purple stock? While it might be done for a purpose, I shudder to think of holding such a thing in my hands. Put it on Fear Factor.

While a good design assembled using Flash may allow you to do something differently than just with html, perhaps even more effectively, it mean it's an essential choice.
