From what I've seen the Ilford paper is not as absorbent as the Epson and the ink tends to flocculate on the surface more on both printers though the Canon does have better penetration. Others on the web swear that fine art papers through the Epsons are the thing to do but I've not done anything like myself, sorry I can't be more helpful karl
