flesh batteries (to those who are unfamiliar with this term it means
fingers) are best kept away from frash units.

leaving flesh batteries and frash units alone for a moment, I'd suggest the
capacitors in the unit are faulty and may need replacing.  DON'T use the
flash until you have them professionally replaced or they may fail
dramatically, potentially doing serious damage to the 300
