Thanks, that is very kind. I doubt if I'll be coming shortly though. My
cousin-in-law makes it to SF more than yearly and plays in a rock band there
as a base player. Sorry, but I don't know the band but his name is "Peter
Clancy". I understand he was in a band of his own several years ago about
when he married my cousin, Linda. Their children are all off to their own
lives now and we have or are expecting grandchildren for them.

I've always been afraid of flying and when an airliner I was in over the
North Sea went down (I was the survivor) I've been too afraid to fly again.

We were coming to the USA on 9/11 but the flight was cancelled.... We had
wanted to come on Concord but they were grounded....

I feel there is a message somewhere here. :)..

Now my Mum who had wanted to see America before she died is 90 and loosing
her fight for life. Much of the money has been spent and we are in debt.
I can't see us ever having another opportunity to go. We've hardly ever
travelled as we are not rich enough.

It is a sad, tragic thing, being human. Life can be very harsh. We've only
got one go...

Hopefully we live at the beginning of a long period of stability and peace
with America being a force for good.

Meanwhile - back to photography. I've just offered my last film camera for
commission sale at the local camera dealer, my two cameras are both digital.
This is the way now. Digital is the way of the present. I'm hoping to go
to "Focus on Imaging" at Birmingham on Monday (Terrorists permitting) and
view the latest technology. I held an S2 a couple of years ago at the show
and they might have the latest 16MPix cameras on display this year - not
that I can afford one!

I fellow photographer came to London from SF a few years ago (I met him on
the net) and we had a long chat on digital. Things have moved on a lot
since then.

Glad you came to that conclusion, Chris, because it is the correct one. It
is unfortunate that a few would choose to accept the sensationalism of the
news media, and believe that there is a wrongful death on every street
corner every day of the week. Bad news sells, so the media look every bit of
bad news they can find, when the truth is generally not that way.

When might you be in the Bay Area, Chris? At the moment I'm speaking for
myself, but I think some of the other Bay Area residents of the list would
want to join us. I would like to arrange an evening, or midday, to meet and
treat you to a meal and perhaps a couple pints.
