Tsk tsk - there you go sniping at Macs again. Sigh.
Real men use Sony CRT's!
Imacs of any description were not designed for serious photography.
LCD's are a convenience gadget, like bread making machines.
(Overpriced, underperformed and ultimately pointless).
Watched an attractive young women (my other hobby) struggling to
process my order for floor tiles yesterday on the nice new black Dell
with LCD screen. We came to the conclusion that a Dickensian ledger
would be much faster and more reliable.
"Ah, but it's much more convenient and useful when it's working
properly," commented her sidekick.
"And when exactly is that, Glen," she replied.
My heart warmed to her (she already had the rest of my vital organs).
As your friend stated that the machine was to perform a specific task
and it won't, he needs to get seriously nasty with the store and
Apple. Apple are usually pretty responsive if you do it right. The
son of a friend had a G4 desktop lemon - when it failed the third
time they replaced it. When he happened to mention that he was in a
bit of hurry as he was working on some TV commercials (stretching the
truth) they said "Oh, you're CORPORATE!" and replaced it immediately
with the top of the line dual processor screamer with bells and
whistles, no extra charge and awfully sorry for the delay, Sir.
One of the finest forms of literature is the letter of complaint and
it should always be addressed to the CEO so that it can filter down
from the stratosphere marked 'make this go away!'
How's the weather mate?
