Well my digital prints 10"X8" in colour cost about £3 GBP that is about $4. A commercial print similar is likely to cost about £8 GBP or about $11. A photographic colour print will last about 5 years on my wall but Lyson colour prints are said to last 30 years in the same conditions. The new Epson pigment inks have been claimed to last 200 years. A silver halide print is likely to be stable and not show signs of fading 50 years ? may only be 25 years depending on fixing and washing. Lyson monochrome print has been claimed to last 100 years. I use permajet printing technology reputed to have a lifetime of ten years. I won't be around much longer, will anyone else want my prints? I usually shred my prints within three years or directly after the show. So, here it is for the final time... I'm trying to do a bit of research into digital printing techniques (Iris, Fujix, Lightjet, Inkjet with Epsons, etc.). Specifically, I'm trying to find out how the quality (color gamut, resolution), longevity, and cost of different digital prints compare to traditional chromogenic and/or silver halide prints. If anyone knows of any websites or other sources of information on this topic, please pass them along to me either through the list, or by sending them to me direct at virginitas@netscape.net. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Craig -- -- __________________________________________________________________ The NEW Netscape 7.0 browser is now available.
