I've hesitated to join in this fray up to now and I apoligize in advance for wasting your time and bandwidth... I think (hope) it's fair to say that all of us who have been trying GET OFF this list have taken the "usual" steps. Mailing unsubscribe requests to request/owner/root , etc... I know I have. I suspect that many of us are or were system administrators and are comfortable with these conventions. If you doubt, try it yourself - it just doesn't work. Those who want to leave now (or who may ever want to unsubscribe in the future!) find ourselves in a Kafka-esque situation. Some, like Simon, may be driven to desperate measures which just annoy the rest of us even more. Some may just filter the mail from this group and send it to /dev/null (as perhaps Simon should have). But that shouldn't have to happen. SOMEBODY should have a clue to why this is happening. If anyone has a clue how we can track down a responsible party, please post it. At times I think it's funny, but the joke is getting old. thanks and good luck to all... -George P.S. if you've just subscribed, I bet you're wondering what you got youself into.... I wish I knew... That that is is. -William Shakespeare
