One place to look for specs is http://gkernel.sourceforge.net/specs/

But I don't see any hdd specs there.

I would ask on the ide list: linux-ide@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

otoh, what is a hdd driver?  Linux doesn't have such.

There are some quirk areas dedicated to specific hdds, but I would not
call that a driver.
