Hi all,
I am trying to build one of the 2.6.29 versions of the kernel and my host kernel is 2.6.24-16
when i do
$make menuconfig
Why is it taking
scripts/kconfig/mconf arch/x86/Kconfig
#
# using defaults found in /boot/config-2.6.24-16-generic
#
/boot/config-2.6.24-16-generic:356:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for FB_VESA
/boot/config-2.6.24-16-generic:531:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for IP_DCCP_CCID3
/boot/config-2.6.24-16-generic:535:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for IP_DCCP_TFRC_LIB
/boot/config-2.6.24-16-generic:1301:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for ACPI_DOCK
/boot/config-2.6.24-16-generic:1813:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for FIXED_PHY
/boot/config-2.6.24-16-generic:2074:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for ISDN
My guess is it is trying to take the configuration of the already running kernel and showing it as to what can be added or removed from the
one which i am about to compile .
CMIIW please
