Yes. Many significant differences. 2.5 development started November 23
2001, at the same day as linux-2.5.15 was released. In the beginning
bug fixes from 2.5 were backported to 2.4, but that hardly happened
later on. It's more than five years later, so yes a lot has changed.

I'm working with a mips based embedded board, running 2.4.31, and an Intel
Host running 2.6.15. My Edge Port 1 USB to serial adaptor behaves
differently on each.
Well, try to narrow down the differences. Either downgrade the PC to
2.4.31, or (even better) ugprade the MIPS board to 2.6.15. Right now
the systems are so different that there is no way to figure out what's
wrong.
I'm not having much success building a 2.4 kernel from 2.6. So I'm
looking for a LiveCD with 2.4 on it. I'd love to upgrade the MIPS board
to 2.6.15, but I'll have to put that on the back burner for now.
BTW: if you find a bug in a 2.4 kernel, I don't think you'll find
anybody really interested anymore (unless it's a security bug). 2.4
development is dead, everybody works on 2.6.
