yeah, i've been trying to figure that out but with no luck ... if you
go into the chapter, you can browse via next, but that sucks

i'm thinking you need to tweak docbook parameters in the xsl fragment
stylesheet.xsl ... to quick test, just run:
DocBook$ xmlto xhtml -m stylesheet.xsl -o kernel-api kernel-api.xml
