I needed some filesystem tests some time ago and the results were not
exactly excelent. Well, I don't think there is actualy so much find.
Linux hackers usualy don't have time to do benchmarking, which is
probably why it's suggested for newbies.

Since almost nothing has changed from application's point of view, the
test cases should apply equaly well. Perhaps that could be a good
starting point for you -- try to look what has changed between 2.4 and
2.6 and what tests should be updated in what way.
