One of the suggestions for newbies to be of help is to benchmark. I'm sure I can come up with test cases but I doubt they'll be helpful or of interest to anyone :) I thought a good way to start was to ask other individuals to run their test cases and provide additional data points but I can't get a response from them.

Yes, but it wasn't as specific as I would've liked. I'll look again...


Linux Test Project seems like a good starting point too.

When I looked last time it hadn't been updated for 2.6.
