Vamsi, I'd suggest checking out bcrl's (Benjamin La Haise (sp?))
asynchronous I/O implementation in the newer kernels (and probably some
RedHat kernels, such as found in their RHAS product) that is modelled
slightly off of the POSIX asynchronous I/O specification, but is slightly
different. (I think a userland libredhat library provides a compatability
interface for POSIX aio semantics.)
