More than WiFi (as this is heavily optimized). Putting the LCD brightness to a lower value also helped. I am switching my device to GSM only and use is as normal. Afterall I do navigate the web only every now and then, but I mostly use IM and for that I don't need 3G. And I can always switch back to 3G is I really need something fast.
