The terminal (osso_term) allows a number of encodings, one of which is
UTF-8 (a Unicode encoding). If your font supports the necessary code
points, then UTF-8 encoded text will be displayed correctly. For
example, using the default Monospace font, mixed English, Arabic and
Kanji text can be displayed (I just happened to have a file containing
these three scripts in UTF-8).
