Yes.  My N800 does.  Perhaps because I installed it from some 
on-line repository, but it does.  I believe its shell is a 
version of busybox.

This I don't know.  I suspect it doesn't out-of-the-box, because the 
bitmaps for a full unicode character set is *huge*.  But I do believe it 
uses UTF-8 as its normal character code (can anyone confirm this?)
