This is not strictly related but I consider brightness control as a 
power management too and this is also handled by closed parts and cannot 
be easily avoided.

I wish dsme would not insist on fixing brigtness every few seconds for 
me. Just tried to include it in bootmenu to reduce power requirements 
while the device boots (it is set on max for many seconds) or when 
sitting in the menu, but even so early in the boot dsme maxes it out for 
me few seconds later.

Yes there is hacked kernel for this so it is possible to avoid but I 
wish this was not needed.

Also I would suggest to select different value than maximum when system 
boots for better power saving.
