If so, you can first add the two [A] connecter to the Host, and then

Have you tried using usbmon to trace what happens when you plug in the
drive? See Documentation/usb/usbmon.txt.

I bought this morning a usb hub "BELKIN Plus Hub" with external power
supply and i connected the Lacie external Hard Disk on it.
*The Lacie external Hard Disk works fine now* !!
I also have a response this afternoon from the ASROCK technical
support on the motherboard P4VM8, and they described how to
increase the usb power supply on motherboard :

Linux is not officially supported on this motherboard. But I guess
the problem has nothing to do with Linux.
Please press F11 during booting. You will get a boot menu. If the
BIOS detects the HDD, then it should be shown in this boot menu/
/ These bus powered external HDDs use a lot of power. You can give
some extra power to the USB ports by changing a jumper setting.
Waking up from standby via mouse or keyboard will then not be
possible. Please shut down power and move the jumper PS2_USB_PWR1
from pins 2&3 to pins 1&2. See attached image. /
/ If that does not help, then please disconnect everything from
the USB headers on the motherboard. See attached image.
Then test on the ports on the I/O panel. /
