Right, but they would clash if we add them all to the usb bus, because they are not unique across multiple devices, and would all end up in a single directory: /sys/bus/usb/devices/*. That's why I asked, in case we are free to define a name, we might want to give it a unique one right away, but I expect the symlinks have been there for a reason.
