Just a quick note: The above commit went into 2.6.35, but Henri claims
that the setup broke between v2.6.28..v2.6.32 (well, it's Ubuntu kernels
so how knows what's really in them). A quick glance does not reveal
anything obviously suspicious that went into visor between those
releases.

I wouldn't rule out a user-space change triggering the device crash.
