Thanks Larry, I will give that a try. I wasn't aware Speakup supports USB DecTalk?

At that time I had a 1994 DecPC card which ran real nicely in windows-and-DOS, but in Speakup, it was quite unresponsive. I would hit an up-arrow, it would not easily inturrup. Some years later I got a DecTalk U S B unit. While there are certainly frustrations in Speakup, at least it is a more natural experience. Hope that helps a bit.
