David, If I recall correctly for the dectalk card itself, you have to boot
dos, config the card, then boot into Linux.
The reason is that some things need to get preloaded into the dectalk
card.
I just looked back into my personal archives, and this is how I used to do
it.
If you don't have the original dos drivers, contact me off-list and I can
help you.
