Yeah Yasr could definitely use some TLC, it'll be interesting to see what the
kernel devs do as far as providing an I/O event interface for something like a
userspace screen reader to attach to. Also not sure what it would take to migrate
Speakup to such an interface, as I have unfortunately lacked time to poke at it
in any great depth for a bit now.
