sending email with debian

Thanks for all the replies on this one.  Much appreciated.

I have now mannaged to send and receive with mutt.  Making 
progress.

As suggested, I set up a couple of email addresses for testing.  I 
still have a long way to go to make it all work properly but really 
excited at getting a mail sent from linux.
