-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi there. I just tried that, and I still get the same behavior. Its like Gnome isn't starting properly or something. The reason I say that is bc the only process that runs is gnome-session. I checked that against a working setup, and I saw something like gnome-keyring-daemon, gnome-vfs or something, and also gnome-panel. I wonder if it might have to do with an "unknown host" error when I run startx? root at igueths:~# startx hostname: Unknown host _XSERVTransSocketOpenCOTSServer: Unable to open socket for inet6 _XSERVTransOpen: transport open failed for inet6/igueths:0 _XSERVTransMakeAllCOTSServerListeners: failed to open listener for inet6 Release Date: 18 December 2003 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 6.7 Build Operating System: Linux 2.4.26 i686 [ELF] Current Operating System: Linux igueths 2.6.6 #1 SMP Thu Sep 9 15:37:36 EDT 2004 i686 Build Date: 05 June 2004 Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.X.Org to make sure that you have the latest version. I also get that msg on my laptop/server (and as a result, I'm going to assume that Gnome won't start properly?
