Hi Josh. when you installed speakup on the machine did you use the stable 0.10a version or did you use the cvs version? Actually since this is a Red Hat machine you can use the kernel rpm packages that have speakup enabled in them from: http://198.172.228.165/rh7.1/RedHat/RPMS All you have to add to the lilo command line is append = "speakup_synth=ltlk" Hopefully this should work. If not try adding the speakup_ser=0 option to the line as well. Tommy
